Man United could be set to spend big in the summer transfer window, according to reports
Manchester United are ready to splash the cash on as many as six new signings in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that Manchester United chief Ed Woodward is ready to help Jose Mourinho get the signings he wants this summer and is willing to back the Portuguese coach to the tune of £200m.
The same report says that Woodward is ready to work “closely” with Mourinho during the summer months as the pair look to try and revamp the Manchester United squad ahead of next season.
According to the same story, some of Mourinho’s top targets this summer include Napoli’s Jorginho, Juventus’ Alex Sandro, Spurs pair Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld, Celtic’s Kieran Tierney and Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin.
Meanwhile, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian are among the players who could be sold by the Red Devils this summer, according to the same story.
However, the same story says that Manchester United have no plans to sign a new striker this summer, despite Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s departure to LA Galaxy last month.
Manchester United are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the summer transfer window gives Mourinho the chance to significantly bolster his squad ahead of next season.
